User Documentation

Several User Guides are available for BioMA, including documentation of the general structure of BioMA (BioMA Layers), available tools for BioMA (BioMA Tools) and already prepared and tested modelling solutions (BioMA Modelling Solutions). Find details in the tables below.

The table below lists the main tools currently available with the BioMA platform. Click the link to open either the Online or the PDF version of the User Guide:

Area/Tool Name Description Links to User Guide
BioMA Framework User Guide It provides a general overview of the BioMA software framework and its architecture, as well as of the tools that compose it Online pdf
Modelling solution creation:
Domain Class Coder (DCC) It allows generating the code of domain and parameter classes More Information
Strategies Class Coder (SCC) It allows generating the code of model classes (Strategies)
Model Components Explorer (MCE) It allows exploring the components interfaces and the domain classes
Model Parameter Editor (MPE) It allows viewing/editing the strategies’ parameters
Modelling solution composition:
Composition Layer Interactive Code (CLIC) It allows creating code to build a modelling solution Online pdf
Model simulation use:
BioMA Spatial Graphical User Interface for configuring, running, and viewing a Modeling Solution in a spatially and temporally distributed context Online pdf
Parameters calibration and sensitivity analysis:
Optimizer It allows calibrating models with each modelling solution made available in BioMA Online pdf
Optimizer Tutorial It allows setting up a model calibration pdf
Luisa It allows performing sensitivity analysis More Information
Simulations result’s graphical analysis:
Graphic Data Displayer (GDD) It allows displaying values either by textual tables or by several kinds of graphs More Information
Map Data Visualizer (MDV) It allows inspecting and visually analyzing the outputs of simulations Online pdf

The table below lists the available documentation on BioMA layers. Click the link to download the PDF:

Document Description Download
Composition Layer It provides a description of the Composition Layer of BioMA, which allows composing new modelling solutions and/or develop components pdf
Configuration Layer It provides a description of the Configuration Layer of BioMA, which is the layer where configuration items can be added to a modelling solution to make it usable in a specific context pdf
Data Layer It provides a description of the Data Layer of BioMA, a set of C# libraries that allows a programmer to manage the query and the modification of the database records pdf
